Bahir Dar means “By the Sea” and is located onthe southern shores of beautiful Lake Tana, Ethiopia’s largest lake andreservoir for the famous Blue Nile River. Wide boulevards lined with palm treesand a temperate climate makes it a popular holiday destination. Cruise on theLake to view hippos or endemic birds and visit Ethiopian Orthodox monasteries,found on some 20 of Lake Tana’s 37 islands - some dating back to the 16th and17th centuries. Bahar Dar’s other attraction is the Blue Nile Falls; hikingthrough beautiful scenery and crossing over the famous Portuguese bridge.
Activities
In the morning, fly to Bahir Dar upon arrival check into a hotel. After a while, make boat trip on Lake Tana to visit the medieval period monasteries harbored on the islands, and the separation point of the Blue Nile River from Lake Tana. In the afternoon drive 35km to the small village of Tis Abay to visit Blue Nile falls, along the way enjoy the local life style and typical countryside of Ethiopia. Upon arrival hike through the beautiful scenery and cross over Portuguese bridge to the waterfall. Enjoy the fall and on the way back cross by boat the legendary Blue Nile River which joins the White Nile at Khartoum (Sudan) then form the longest river in the world.

In the morning, drive to Gondar and visit the Royal enclosure consisting of several castles inscribed by UNESCO, King Fasiledes’s bath and the fascinating Debre Birhan Selassie church which is well known for its intriguing ceiling paintings.

Excursion to the Siemen Mountains National Park to enjoy spectacular scenery and more over to see troops of the endemic Gelada baboons. Siemen is recorded in the UNESCO heritage list for its superlative natural phenomena. In the afternoon, drive back to Gondar. Meal: breakfast

In the morning, fly to Axum (UNESCO heritage site), upon arrival meet and assist by ET-Holidays representative. Aksum is a city with more than 3000 years of history and once the center of a great empire and ancient civilization, home of the original Ark of the Covenant. The sightseeing of this ancient city includes St. Mary’s Church, the sanctuary Chapel which is the repository for ‘Ark of the covenant’, the coronation yard, the Stelae Park, Tombs of Kaleb and his son Gebre Meskel, Ezana’s inscriptions and Dungur palace (popularly known as ruins of Queen of Sheba’s palace.

In the morning, fly to Lalibela to visit the eleven rock-hewn churches registered by UNESCO. Lalibela is known for its well-preserved Rock Hewn churches; each rock churches are carved out and crafted beautifully from a single volcanic rock. Here you head on back to 11th century mythical rock hewn churches of Lalibela. he mysterious Lalibela churches are widely regarded as the 8th wonder of the world.

Fly back to Addis Ababa Depending on your anticipated arrival time, sightseeing of Addis. The city tour activity includes visiting National Museum, Entoto view point, Merkato the biggest open market, and drive through Addis to see historical monuments and status. Then, transfer to the hotel and/or airport to catch the international flight.
